VLC media player è un software davvero importante soprattutto per chi usa molto il file sharing per scaricare dei file video (mpeg, mpg, avi, wmv, asf etc...) e vuole vedere l'anteprima dei file di cui ha cominciato il download. Suo principale proposito è quindi il preview dei files video, per prevenire lo scaricamento di 'fake' files o video di cattiva qualità. Può aprire tra gli altri i file .dat (file incompleti di Kazaa) e file .part (file temporanei di eDonkey, eMule ed altri programmi della stessa famiglia). Oltre alla versione per Windows sul sito di riferimento sono disponibili anche le versioni per Linux, Mac OS X, BeOS, *BSD, Solaris, Familiar Linux, Yopy/Linupy e QNX. Inoltre può essere utilizzato per riprodurre normalmente

- MPEG-1, MPEG-2 e MPEG-4 / DivX files da hard disk, CD-ROM drive etc...
- DVDs, VCDs e Audio CDs
- da scheda satellitare (DVB-S),
- Alcuni tipi di network stream : UDP Unicast, UDP Multicast (MPEG-TS), HTTP, RTP/RTSP, MMS, etc...
- Da schede di acquisizione o codifica (soltanto su GNU/Linux e Windows)

Informo che l'ultima versione è la v0.8.6c

si, ma vi informo che è pronta la 0.8.6d
è che ancora non l'hanno pubblicata sul sito, quindi attendevo qualche giorno per l'uscita della nuova
Inoltre non ho trovato ancora il changelog dalla 0.8.6c alla 0.8.6d giustamente...

E' solo per developers e da ieri questa versione è scomparsa. che se ne siano pentiti?

VLC media player versions 0.8.6 to 0.8.6c suffer from a security vulnerability in the ActiveX plugin. More technical details are available in our advisory.
An updated release of VLC is available which includes a few other fixes as well, notably better compatibility with MacOSX 10.5 Leopard. The full list of changes can be found here.
We strongly recommend all users to update to this new version.
Note that early and broken Win32 binaries have been distributed by third party websites. Make sure to download from an official VideoLAN mirror to avoid disappointment.

E' uscita finalmente la v0.9.6 per Windows

Su Vista (io ho la Home Premium) manda in crisi l'inerfaccia Aero nn é niente di grave appena lo si spegne torna tt come prima, ma é fastidioso sopratutto si si hanno aperte molte finestre......... o reinstallato la 0.9.4
